games people play: tennis

if badminton is the thing in manila, here it's a different story. i haven't even seen a "real" badminton racket on sale in walmart and other shops (or maybe i just didn't look hard enough). instead, in preparation for swimsuit season, my officemates here have started to play tennis every week since last month. one of my officemates was even willing to give a tutorial for beginners.

so one windy afternoon when i had nothing better to do, i joined them for tennis class. our instructor was really patient, showing us how to warm-up, hold the racket, hit the ball, etc. i could hit the ball, but i couldn't hit it hard enough. my arm was too weak to send the ball flying over the net, and i could only use one hand to do the forehand :D the only consolation i have is that she says my backhand is good :) i think it was mainly because i could use both hands to do the backhand ;)

*sigh* i miss badminton :(
